Overview

Cairn has built a frontier exploration position offshore Morocco with a combined acreage of 8,900km2. The area comprises a 50% operated interest in the Foum Draa blocks 1-3 and a 37.5% operated interest in the Cap Juby Maritime blocks I-III licence. The Cap Juby Maritime and Foum Draa blocks are adjacent to one another, offshore Morocco. Cairn has also entered into a farm-in agreement with Kosmos Energy and the Moroccan National Oil Company (ONHYM) for a 20% non-operated interest in the Cap Boujdour block offshore North West Africa.

Cairn has now drilled two exploration wells offshore Morocco in the Foum Draa blocks (2013) and Cap Juby Maritime blocks (2014).
