Greenland Operations Contingency Plans

  1. Home Operations Greenland Cairn`s Contingency Plans

In all our operations, including offshore Greenland, Cairn is focused on safety both in terms of people and the environment.  Safety is Cairn's top priority and our operations are focused on prevention. Cairn has state-of-the-art equipment and a team of experts with more than 1,000 man years experience of working in challenging environments.  Cairn also has a thorough and robust contingency plan in place in the unlikely event of a serious incident. Cairn welcomes the decision by the Greenlandic Government to revise its exploration framework, a move which has led to relevant oil spill response plans being publicly available. As a result, the Greeland Government has published Cairn's Oil Spill Prevention and Contingency Plan.  This plan has been reviewed and approved by third parties including Oil Spill Response Limited (OSRL), the Danish National Environmental Research Institute (NERI) and the Greenland Government.  All are satisfied that the plan is robust and appropriately designed to deal with an incident in this area.
