Purpose of role:

To act as a point of contact in country and provide in country professional and administrative support for the smooth operation of business within Greenland.

Principle Duties (Areas of responsibility):

  • Act as the first point of contact for liaising with 3rd parties (e.g. trade associations, trade unions, training associations, municipality authorities, hunting and fishing association, etc) and receiving potential grievances.
  • Provide assistance to government offices and authorities in preparing documents related to the Capricorn business.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security of important / confidential documents during the approval processes.
  • Organise arrangements to conduct meetings between Capricorn officials and government officials.
  • Provide advice to management as required on how to make the right approach on crucial issues with government offices.
  • Prepare import and export documentation as and when required.
  • Support the budget approval process and invoice payments in country.
  • Arrange visa’s as and when required for staff from overseas who are working in country.
  • Handle correspondence directed at the Head of Assets in country.
  • Ensure provision of relevant, accurate and timely management information to stakeholders, principally Asset and Department Managers.
  • Assist in organising technical and operating committee meetings held in Greenland and assist in writing minutes, follow up and coordinating with partners until minutes are approved.
  • Assist in organising field trips.
  • Assist in the establishment of emergency plans as required, including medical support for staff and contractors.
  • Provide support in the application of visa and residence permits and accommodation for personnel working on the drilling campaign.
  • Interface with company approved travel agencies for the needs of visitors.
  • Supervise and coordinate travel and hotel arrangements.
  • Provide translation and linguistic services as may be required.
  • Meet and greet visitors from the Head Office in Edinburgh.
  • Monitor and report to senior management on company coverage in the local press.
  • Any other related activities as required.

Skills/Experience Required

Education

A degree in any discipline.

Relevant experience

  • Experience and knowledge of the working systems in government offices and authorities.
  • The ability to speak Greenlandic, Danish and English.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience of IT systems including Word, Excel, Microsoft Outlook.
  • Experience of working with senior officials and a good network of contacts.
