Purpose of Role

  • Accurately process invoices and ensure these are paid within agreed terms with due regard for Company’s internal controls. 

Areas of responsibility

Main Responsibilities

Accounts Payable

  • Accurately process invoices and ensure these are paid within agreed terms with due regard for Company’s internal controls.
  • Ensure correct VAT treatment is applied to all invoices
  • Prepare weekly forecast of expected payments
  • Prepare payment runs and assist Treasury accounts assistant with processing of payments as required
  • Prepare and post direct debit payments
  • Resolve supplier queries
  • Review, post and prepare petty cash payment for overseas offices
  • General admin, filing, copying as necessary 

Expense Processing

  • Check, input and pay company personnel expenses and credit card claims, ensuring correct coding is applied to all expense claims
  • Ensure correct VAT treatment is applied to all expense claims
  • General admin, filing, copying as necessary 

Month end

  • Prepare and post month end AP and general accruals
  • Prepare WHT and RCT reports as required
  • Prepare journals as required
  • Enter/uplift journals as required
  • Complete month end reconciliations as assigned 

Other

  • Provide cover/support to Central Accounting team as required
  • Ad hoc tasks within the department as required
  • Contribute towards overall improvement of the Central Accounting Function.
  • Assist with integration and set up of any new entities into Unit 4 AP
  • Provide assistance and back up for audits as required

Cover

  • Provide cover for  other members of the AP team as required

Skills/Experience Required

Education

  • HND or experience

Relevant Experience/Skills

  • Unit 4 AP experience preferred
  • Ability to work on own initiative and take ownership of responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Keen, flexible attitude
