Purpose of Role 

  • Responsible for the presentation, composition and analysis, in Spanish, of technical support materials when dealing with government and regulators, subcontractors, services providers, current and potential partners, and any other external stakeholders as needed. Also responsible for support and coordination with corporate functions in relation to due diligence or audits in Mexico, and with
    Capricorn Mexico’s Procurement & Logistics and HSSE Managers in relation to effective implementation of Cairn’s systems in country.
  • Responsible for the provision of technical and administrative assessments, and for compliance with statutory requirements established in Mexico.

Areas of responsibility

  • Participate in technical meetings with regulators and/or contractors in support to audits and official permitting-related observations/requests. Support handling of governmental documentation and filings before regulators –commonly in short notice
  • Provide technical and administrative assistance, when required to compose responses to official requests and filings
  • Coordinate with and assist other members of the Mexico team for effective accomplishment of due diligence, audits or in-country visits by corporate management
  • Liaise with key providers and contractors to support due diligence and coordination, in support to Procurement Manager and Cairn’s corporate functions
  • Represent Capricorn at technical workshops called by government and industry bodies

Skills/Experience Required

Education

  • A Master’s or Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline (Engineering, Business, Geology, Physics, etc.)

Relevant Experience/Skills

  • Commercial, consultancy or operational work experience; preferably in a similar role with an oil & gas
    operating company
  • Experience from operations, technical sales, or negotiation roles
  • Extensive experience within the oil and gas industry in Mexico and familiarity with its regulatory framework
  • Fluent in English and Spanish
