Working responsibly

Employees

Our people are the foundation for our ongoing success so we are committed to providing them with the best possible employee experience.

Managing our people

Our approach to talent management includes providing a safe, collaborative and positive work environment, recognising and rewarding employee contributions, providing opportunities for growth and development, and offering support to facilitate the delivery of our strategy and activities. Having refreshed and redesigned our people management policies, our Group People Policy covers staff in all our offices.

Our initiatives are underpinned by our values of Respect, Relationships and Responsibility.

Management Bootcamp

We believe effective people management is the key to being a high-performing organisation. We use a tailored personal development programme – the ‘Management Bootcamp’ – to develop our people managers and support individual, team and company success. It provides the practical tools they need to support and motivate their teams to deliver optimum results.

We continue to offer a variety of other learning and development opportunities across the Group, to support the delivery of our objectives and to enable our people to progress towards their career aspirations. The activities span classroom training, overseas secondments, workshops, conferences, field trips and e-learning, to ensure all learning styles are accommodated.

Equality and diversity

We are committed to equality and diversity across the Cairn Group. We appreciate the important role a diverse workforce plays in delivering our strategy, by broadening our skill base, bringing different perspectives and ideas, challenging norms and encouraging creativity.

We believe that diversity and inclusion is not about meeting quotas; it’s about making the differences within our organisation work for the benefit of our people and shareholders. We recognise diversity in all its dimensions: national origin, age, race and ethnicity, religion and belief, gender, marital status and socioeconomic status, as well as educational background, training, sector experience and organisational tenure – even personality traits.

Our People Management Policy outlines our approach to equality and diversity, and how it is implemented in recruitment and selection, training and development, and remuneration and benefits. We also have policies on disability, religion and belief, and the treatment of part-time employees.
